Human Resources Generalist
Mountain Engineering is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Human Resources Generalist with at least three years of experience in a private-sector corporate environment. You'll be a vital part of our team active in a broad range of HR functions with well-rounded knowledge of multiple HR disciplines with a focus on the full employee lifecycle. You'll ensure a seamless and positive experience for new hires and play a key role in maintaining compliance and operational efficiency. This position will be joining a dynamic administrative department supporting a civil construction, electrical line and environmental divisions.
Responsibilities
- Support organizational goals and foster a positive workplace culture
- Assist in development and maintenance of policies and procedures
- Communicate ideas and strategies for improvement
- Collaborate with the other administrative departments as required
- Work closely with payroll to ensure employee information is provided accurately and timely
Employee Support
Create a positive first impression with employees and candidatesServe as a point of contact for employee and management inquires, providing guidance and answering questions on a wide range of HR topicsMaintain employee information in BambooHRMaintain confidentiality and professionalismRecruiting, Onboarding & Preboarding
Work with hiring managers to develop and post hiring ads, review resumes, phone screen candidates, make recommendations and participate in interview panelsPrepare and send employment offersServe as the primary point of contact for new hires, answering questions via email and phoneOversee all preboarding logistics, including sending welcome emails, distributing new hire packets, and ordering drug screens and background checksOnboarding Day Management
Lead new hire orientation, guiding employees through presentations on company policies, tools, and proceduresOccasional remote onboard coordinated through TeamsAssist with the completion of onboard paperwork including I-9 and E-VerifyCoordinate with other departments, such as IT and Safety, for equipment and safety gearTrain new hires on key systems like BambooHR and ClickTime for time tracking and expense reportsAdministrative & Compliance
Experience with FMLA, CFRA, PFL and ADAConduct monthly audits for various internal programs including training complianceMaintain employee information in BambooHROther duties as assignedOffboarding
Oversee offboarding procedures by sending out offboarding emails and coordinating with IT / Safety for asset retrievalPerform exit interviewsWhat You'll Bring :
Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Support roleHR Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plusFamiliar with Labor Unions and CBA's a plusStrong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detailExcellent communication skillsExperience speaking in small group settingsThe ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficientlyA professional and friendly demeanorProficiency with HRIS systems, preferably BambooHR, and familiarity with onboarding and offboarding processes.Benefits
