Prospect Research Associate
The Prospect Research Associate at UPMC Children's Hospital Foundation is an important member of the Foundation's Development Services Team. Under the general direction of the Senior Director, this role will support the Foundation's fundraising and development efforts. The Prospect Research Associate will collaborate closely with the Senior Director and Prospect Researcher to learn how to identify, analyze, and conduct research on potential donors. This position will assist the Senior Director and Prospect Researcher in building a pipeline of new high-potential prospects and will learn how to maintain accurate donor records to support the strategic goals of the Foundation.
Responsibilities :
- Assist in conducting proactive and reactive research to identify new funders using various prospect research tools and resources.
- Help to track prospects and donors by monitoring daily news, press releases, online Google alerts, daily patient lists, etc.
- Assist in reviewing entries in the database to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in assigning, unassigning, and coding prospects accurately in Raiser's Edge through the established prospect management process.
- Learn how to conduct basic research and help prepare written profiles, rating memos, event bios, and qualified lists for the Foundation, while adhering to ethical guidelines and privacy regulations in all research activities.
- Schedule meetings for the Prospect Research Department, collect the to-dos and minutes from monthly Prospect Connections and CFR / PMR meetings, bi-annual Donor Days, and bi-annual portfolio hygiene meetings, and share with all attendees.
- Help complete data integrity projects within the database on prospects and donors.
- Assist in creating and running queries to review, extract, and compile data for prospect research.
- Assist in capturing, recording, updating, and maintaining donor and prospect information in Raiser's Edge.
- Responsible for document management; ensure all research documents are uploaded to Raiser's Edge along with photos of donors and prospects, when available.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Communications, English, Marketing, Business, Library Science, Nonprofit Management.1 - 2 years of back office / support experience on a fundraising / development team, or a related field, is preferred.Familiarity with donor databases and research tools such as Raiser's Edge, is preferred.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances :Act 31 / 33 / 34 / 73 Child Abuse Reporting with renewalUPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Veteran
