Director Of Accounting

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Accounting to oversee all aspects of our Accounting Department. This role is pivotal in supporting administrative staff and developing positive relationships with employees to foster leadership within the department.

Responsibilities

Develop positive relationships with employees to understand their duties and advance into leadership roles.

Partner with leaders to develop, monitor, and refine KPI's to drive performance and ensure alignment with company goals.

Work closely with Estimators / Project Managers to ensure financial accuracy in cost tracking and job performance, and identify and train to resolve cost management gaps.

Maintain and oversee Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and job cost control to ensure accuracy and alignment with project budgets.

Update and maintain equipment rate analysis and recommend adjustments as needed.

Manage month-end and year-end close processes and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Manage accounting, operations, tax, and compliance to ensure accuracy and adherence to GAAP standards.

Coordinate and support internal and external audits to ensure ESOP compliance.

Monitor cash reserves and provide forecasting to ensure adequate funds for operational and capital needs.

Assist in the development of budgets and track actual performance against them.

Perform other administrative duties and projects as assigned.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

8 or more years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

Intermediate proficiency in Office 365 Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in cost accounting and pricing analysis.

Familiarity with Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting.

Work Environment

This position requires working onsite 5 days a week, with no option for a hybrid schedule. The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, providing an opportunity to engage with various departments and influence financial decision-making processes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Des Moines, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $150000.00 / yr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Des Moines, IA.
