Position Overview
We are looking for a Full-time Tax Senior with 2 to 6 years of experience in tax preparation and planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in tax law, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects while developing your career in tax.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex federal and state income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
- Conduct thorough research on tax issues and provide well-reasoned solutions to clients
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities for clients
- Assist in the preparation of estimated tax payments and extensions
- Review and analyze financial statements and tax documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and explain tax implications of various scenarios
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations through continuous education and research
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members
- Collaborate with managers and partners on complex tax projects and client engagements
- Participate in client meetings and presentations as needed
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies
- Contribute to the firm's thought leadership by writing articles or presenting on tax topics
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards
- Utilize tax software and other technology tools effectively to streamline processes and improve efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree in Taxation preferred)2 to 6 years of experience in tax preparation and planningCPA certification required (or actively pursuing)Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulationsProficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., CCH ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or similar)Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate workEffective communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent time management and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelPreferred Skills
