We are looking for a meticulous Credit Clerk to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to play a key role in managing customer accounts and ensuring accurate financial transactions. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and a customer-focused approach to support our credit and collections functions.
Responsibilities :
- Create and input new customer accounts into the system, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
- Update existing customer account information in line with company policies and procedures.
- Address customer inquiries related to account balances and transactions, providing documentation and resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer account discrepancies and invoicing concerns.
- Process customer payments in compliance with company guidelines.
- Verify and maintain customer Certificates of Insurance as required.
- Conduct research on account activity, proposing corrections and adjustments to maintain accuracy.
- Review and validate bank and trade references to support credit decisions.
- Deliver precise and timely service to customers, fostering a positive company image.
- Assist in targeted collection campaigns and compile data for reports as directed by management.
- Proven experience in credit and collections, including commercial accounts.
- Familiarity with credit applications and trade credit determinations.
- Strong understanding of account management and financial processes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle customer inquiries professionally.
- Proficiency in relevant software systems for account management.
- Ability to research and analyze account activity to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborative mindset for working with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
