Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to sit, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is constantly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Average Earnings : $24 - $27 / hr Electrical or utility line of work / experience is required On the job training and supervision will be provided prior to working independently This position will REQUIRE travel. Overview
Allegiant Utility Services is a world class utility service organization that has been providing meter installation, meter testing and meter sales to Rural Electric Cooperatives and Municipalities for over 25 years. We also cater to electric cooperatives, city municipalities, and a variety of other businesses such as recreational vehicle parks and retirement communities. Allegiant installs primarily electric and water meters, also inspects and tests commercial electric meters through its field service divisions. Role
The Meter Installation Technician objective is to provide service for the installation of meters at utility locations. Primary responsibilities include managing a daily schedule for work accomplishment, accountability of assigned meters, performing work within a Work Order Management system, removal of old meters, and installation of new meters for residential and commercial uses. A high level of public interaction is required when working in an outdoor environment.
Responsibilities
- Removal of old electric meters with the re-installation of new electric meters
- Performs meter change outs per a specified manner
- Conduct work through a Work Order system
- Manage all inventory of new and old meters
- Work with utility personnel and utility consumers
- Responsible use of a company vehicle
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned or required
Requirements
Compensation
Compensation (Paid Weekly) :
Rate of pay : $9.40 per hour plus $2.50 per meter installed - top performers install up to 10 meters per hour and are well compensated depending on productivity.
