Patient Registration Specialist

Northwest Florida Community Hospital (NFCH), in Chipley, FL, is seeking a PRN (as needed) experienced, energetic, strong and dedicated Patient Registration Specialist to provide exceptional customer service for patients in our Patient Registration Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties :

• Interview patients to gather demographic and insurance information in order to register the patient in the computer system
• Establish the patient medical record
• Provides Advanced Beneficiary Notices, HIPAA, Patient Rights and benefit assignments as directed
• Obtains authorizations, certifications, and referrals from insurance companies
• Identifies patient's financial responsibilities and collects payments
• Liaison between patients, patients' relatives, and the healthcare organization
• Communicates patients' questions and concerns to appropriate staff members
• Explains policies and procedures to patients and refers them to the proper services required
• Ensuring all confidentiality and privacy rights of residents are observe.
• Supports and promotes the Mission, Vision, and Values; adheres to all hospital policies and procedures; commits to the Standards of Conduct; maintains professional appearance.
• Other duties as assigned.
