SUMMARY OF POSITION :

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Extrusion Machine Set-Up / Operator sets-up, adjusts, and operates a variety of machines including multislide, fourslide, and vertical forming machines to perform close tolerance work requiring a high degree of skill. Diagnose and rectify tooling problems and machine malfunctions. Usually work is of a complicated nature having critical and exacting requirements as to tolerance and finish. Work with minimal supervision from drawings, specifications, and job instructions. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments including optical comparators. Responsible for part quality and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Set-up, adjust, and operate extrusion machine to form, bend and punch a variety of work
• Work from drawings, specifications, patterns, or templates
• Use caliper, micrometer, comparator & other measuring equipment
• Sorting and packaging parts
• Verify quantity & quality of material
• Complete & maintain all required paperwork
• Maintains a safe & clean work environment & departmental housekeeping standards
• Responsible for strict adherence to all company / departmental policies and procedures related to safety and conduct rules and other regulations
• Other duties as assigned or required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
