Pay : (pay is calculated based on certification status)

  • Uncertified Case Managers start at $17.50 - Uncertified Case Managers will obtain certification within the first 90 days and pay will be increased
  • Certified Case Manager range starts at $19.25 - Certified CM pay is calculated based on years of certified experience.

Schedule : This position is PRN after hours / weekends (on call) - flexible scheduling!

    Job Summary & Deliverables

    The Crisis Worker provides rapid, on-site intervention for individuals in behavioral health crises. The Crisis Worker provides services in the community, whether at homes, schools, shelters, or workplaces and assesses needs, de-escalates situations, and connects individuals to appropriate services to reduce the need for psychiatric hospitalization.

  • Responds to program and / or community crises
  • Triages and screens clients in crisis to assess life-threatening situations, including risk of suicide and / or homicide, evaluate safety, acuity / danger, and determine medically necessary services
  • Performs mental health status exams to assess for psychiatric concerns or level of care needs
  • Utilizes prescribed de-escalation and resolution methods for helping support at risk community members
  • Mobilizes community resources in an efficient and effective manner
  • Develops strategies to alleviate the immediate threat / risk during a crisis call
  • Uses the consultative process to properly assess the need for community collaboration during a crisis
  • Keeps timely records that adhere to all state and program requirements
  • May be required to use own vehicle for responding to after-hours crisis calls
  • Requirements :

    Required Qualifications

    Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Licenses / Certificates

  • Case Manager certification within 90 days of hire
  • CPR certification
  • Valley de-escalation certification
  • Driving positions require a minimum age of 21 and a current driver’s license
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider card through American Heart Association or obtain within one month of hire.
  • State Crisis Worker certification within 90 days of hire
  • Candidates must be eligible to apply for the State Crisis Worker Certification using one of the following methods :

    (a) Individuals licensed under Utah Department of Professional Licensing for any health or behavioral health license.

    (b) Individuals with a minimum of bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field.

    (c) Individuals certified as a Certified Peer Support Specialist for a minimum of one year.

    (d) Individuals certified as Case Managers for a minimum of one year; or

    (e) Individuals certified as Family Resource Facilitator for a minimum of one year.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous crisis management experience
