Job Description :

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Pediatric Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to provide expert care to children and adolescents facing a wide range of mental and behavioral health challenges. This crucial role involves therapeutic communication, crisis intervention, and medication management in a secure and supportive environment. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of pediatric mental health, is skilled at de-escalation, and is dedicated to creating a safe space for young patients to heal and grow.

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct thorough nursing assessments, including mental status exams and risk assessments.

Provide direct nursing care and administer medications, monitoring for therapeutic effects and side effects.

Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers.

Utilize therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to manage patient behaviors and crises.

Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, coping strategies, and medication management.

Maintain a safe and secure environment, adhering to all safety protocols and documentation standards.

Advocate for the needs of pediatric patients and their families within the healthcare system.

Qualifications :

Active RN license in Missouri.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.

Minimum of 1-2 years of recent Behavioral Health or Pediatric nursing experience.

Strong knowledge of pediatric development and common mental health diagnoses.

COVID vaccine and recent TB test may be required.
