Position Summary
A n immersive, hands-on experience in commercial construction, introducing all phases of construction within preconstruction, project management, and field operations . Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks that will provide a holistic picture of all components of a project .
Key Responsibilities
- Learn company safety program and participate in daily safety inspections.
- Assist with document control process and maintenance of current contract documents .
- Assist with basic scheduling (3 week look ahead and master schedule) .
- Assist with Long Lead Time Matrix .
- Assist with assembly of Daily Construction Reports (DCR) and ensure accuracy .
- Assist in developing pre-install meeting agendas and minutes .
- Assist in developing weekly OAC and trade partner coordination meeting agendas and minutes .
- Assist with reviewing project specific Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA / QC) checklists and ensure accuracy .
- Assist with assembly of and reviewing punch list and overall completion lists .
- Assist with quantity take offs and contracting trade partners during assembly of bids / GMPs .
- Learn project team organizational structure and promptly escalate issues to appropriate resource .
Minimum Qualifications
Student working towards Bachelor's degree, preferably in Construction Management or Civil Engineering .Interest in pursuing a career in Construction / Project Management required .General knowledge of construction principles / processes.
