job_description.job_card.job_descriptionHigh School diploma or equivalent At least three years of experience in mechanical / electrical troubleshooting and diagnosis of food preparation equipment Must be at least 20 years old with a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record Must obtain Natural / Propane Gas certifications within 180 days of hire Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods Willingness to be on call 24 / 7 for emergencies Willingness to travel to various stores, including overnight stays and extended periods Basic knowledge of Lock-out / Tag-out procedures and Food Safety Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, brazing, mechanical, natural, and propane gas equipment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Effective time management skills Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Proficiency in Outlook and Excel Good human relations skills and ability to work as part of a team Enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work Commitment to Publix and its Mission Degree in electrical motor control repairs from an Industrial Mechanical Trade School Six or more years of experience in mechanical / electrical troubleshooting Knowledge of CMMS computer programs
Position Overview
The purpose of this position is to support our retail stores by performing repairs and preventative maintenance on production equipment in the Bakery, Produce, Meat departments, Deli, and common areas.
Responsibilities Include :
- Evaluating and repairing retail equipment
- Providing support to our new stores, remodels, and PAD programs
- Housekeeping tasks such as vehicle inventory, cleaning, credit card statements, and related paperwork
