Senior Facilities Manager

As a Senior Facilities Manager for Medtronic's Orange County cluster of sites, you will play a key role in maintaining safe, well-maintained, and compliant building operations. You'll be part of a team that values inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement. This requires communication and coordination with our technical team, site stakeholders, 3rd party vendors, finance and automated systems. Ultimately responsible for up to 335K sf ft of manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse and administrative space at 3 locations Irvine Toledo, Irvine UCI and Santa Ana.

Responsibilities include :

  • Manage the planning and maintenance of equipment, buildings, facility infrastructure, interior, exterior and services such as parking, janitorial, facilities support, and security
  • Continuously assess the operation of the facility including conditions of the facility structure, interiors, exteriors and grounds by working closely with the team, interfacing with vendors, contractors, skilled trades and service providers. Identify, communicate and drive implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.
  • Ensure that all scheduled maintenance and unplanned repairs are communicated and coordinated with appropriate departments and carried out, as required, with minimal disruption or impact. Provide coordination of operations and maintenance activities across multiple departments for both routine maintenance, projects and shutdown periods.
  • Make process improvement and space allocation recommendations to senior management based on analysis of key metrics, competing priorities and changing business needs
  • Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate responsive safety investigation, short / long term improvements, and collaborative working relationships
  • Design and develop organizational policies relevant to the facilities department. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation across the cluster of sites.
  • Ensure Facilities responsibilities are inspection-ready / audit-ready for quality, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Utilize a building automation and computerize maintenance management system to generate reports to manage team with continuous progress towards Maintenance Excellence

Must haves :

  • Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of Facilities / Maintenance experience OR advanced degree and 5+ years of Facilities / Maintenance experience
  • 5+ years of Managerial experience
  • Nice to have :

  • Track record of effectively managing multiple complex mixed-use buildings.
  • Knowledge of maintenance management and building automation systems.
  • Strong communication with leadership, management, vendors and technicians.
  • Drive root cause and preventative actions for infrastructure issues.
  • Cleanroom operation and management supporting medical device manufacturing
  • Support audit-readiness and inspection-readiness for the FDA and facility

    Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD) : $130,400.00 - $195,600.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification / education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
