Job Summary

The EdRedesign Lab at Harvard Graduate School of Education : Founded in 2014 by Paul Reville, Francis Keppel Professor of Practice of Educational Policy and Administration at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, EdRedesign provides catalytic support to the cradle-to-career place-based partnership field to drive systems-level change and open personalized pathways to well-being, educational attainment, civic engagement, and upward mobility. To support this growing field to effect transformational change that serves the needs and talents of individual children and youth, our work focuses on talent development, actionable research, our Institute for Success Planning, and our By All Means initiatives. Our mission is to ensure the social, emotional, physical, and academic development and well-being of all children and youth, especially those affected by racism, poverty, and disinvestment.

Job-Specific Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Cradle-to-Career Leadership and Learning, the Senior Program Manager will manage and support several signature talent development programs and initiatives, including EdRedesign's Fellowship for Cradle-to-Career Partnership Leaders , By All Means Senior Fellows Program , and student engagement efforts. Specifically, they will hold responsibilities in the following areas :

Fellowship for Cradle-to-Career Partnership Leaders

  • Manage programming and operations of the Fellowship program, including logistics for virtual and in-person event planning in coordination with EdRedesign's operations team, peer learning groups, and other program components as needed
  • Manage the operational coordination of the Fellowship selection process, including recruitment, selection, and matriculation
  • Work closely with the Director of Cradle-to-Career Leadership and Learning to provide input on program design and content and create learning materials and products in alignment with the fellowship curriculum and programming
  • Facilitate engagement between the Fellowship program, Harvard schools, centers, initiatives, and affiliates
  • Ensure the effective implementation of Fellowship monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning strategy, including creating surveys, polls, tracking, analyzing, and synthesizing data to inform continuous improvement
  • Draft key communication materials for Fellow engagement including bi-weekly e-mails and ensuring materials are accessible via Canvas or other platforms

By All Means Senior Fellows Program

  • Manage programming and operations of the By All Means Senior Fellows program, including logistics for virtual and in-person event planning in coordination with EdRedesign's operations team and related programming components as needed
  • Work closely with the Director of Cradle-to-Career Leadership and Learning to provide input on program design and content
  • Facilitate the learning and development of a cohort of graduate students serving as cross-sector leadership associates that provide programmatic and operational support to Senior Fellows
  • Facilitate engagement between the Fellowship program, Harvard schools, centers, initiatives, and affiliates
  • Draft key communication materials for Senior Fellow engagement including periodic emails and coordinating with EdRedesign communications team
  • Student Engagement

  • Lead the development of EdRedesign's expanded student engagement strategy to enroll Harvard students
  • Manage the execution of student-facing engagements and opportunities, including coordinating across EdRedesign departments
  • Lead the coordination of student engagement opportunities for existing Fellowships and Communities of Practices, including hiring student teams and interns
  • Support the learning and development of students engaged with EdRedesign's signature student engagement programming via internships, fellowships, research assistantships, and related opportunities
  • Special Projects

  • In partnership with the Director of Cradle-to-Career Leadership Learning and EdRedesign Senior Leadership, explore, develop, and execute new talent and leadership development initiatives and programming as they emerge
  • This is a one year term position with possibility of extension based on funding and department needs.

    This position works a combination of on-campus and remote work based on business needs and manager approval. The opportunity for 100% remote work is available. All remote work must be performed within a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (CA, CT, GA, IL, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VA, VT, and WA). Candidates residing in other states are also encouraged to apply, though they would become employees of a third-party external payroll company rather than Harvard University.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience, preferably in educational and / or social impact leadership

    Additional Qualifications and Skills :

  • Master's degree or equivalent preferred
  • Commitment to EdRedesign's mission, vision, and values
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management experience, including prior experience managing cohort-based programs with virtual and in-person components
  • Ability to travel to partner communities, attend national field-building events, and represent EdRedesign, the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Harvard University professionally both internally and externally
  • Ability to engage in public speaking and session facilitation
  • Experience with adult learning principles and content curation
  • Ability to work with a team effectively across different projects and work streams
  • Ability to work independently, analyze problems, and develop practical solutions

  • Appointment End Date : 1 year from date of hire
  • Standard Hours / Schedule : 35 hours per week

    This is a position that is based at a Harvard campus location with some remote work options available. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
