Tax Intern

Michaels is looking for a Tax Intern who is ready to apply their accounting course-work to a real-world experience! The co-ops will assist the Finance department with a wide-range of responsibilities during our program. This internship will appeal to proactive and self-motivated students with a genuine desire to learn about the real estate business and industry. During the internship, you will work on real projects and have real responsibilities! Michaels aims to help candidates build strengths, gain skills that can be transferred to any workplace, and stand out from the crowd!
Work Schedule :
- Monday through Friday from 9 AM 5 PM for a total of 35 hours
- Based out of our Camden, NJ headquarters (5x a week)

Assist with the preparation of federal and state tax returns and extensions for a variety of Partnerships, S corporations and C corporationsGather data as needed to respond to noticesAssist with K-1 preparation and distributionConduct tax research to apply relevant tax laws in jurisdictions where the company operatesMaintain organized tax files and tracking of tax return due dates for over 400 entitiesPrepare elections as neededReview entity organization documents to determine filing requirements and set up initial tax returns for newly created entitiesAssist the finance department with posting journal entries and performing reconciliations on an as needed basisQualifications
Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong mathematical and accounting skills are requiredThey should be professional, motivated, highly organized and able to work well alone or with a teamThey should be able to follow instructions and be adept at general office skills such as typing and filingWorking knowledge of MS Excel and Word requiredKnowledge of Realpage & Lacerte tax software not required but usefulSalary Range
$19.00 - $21.00 Per Hour
