Security Professional - Unarmed Government Site Patrol - FT

As a Security Professional - Unarmed Government Site Patrol - FT in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a prominent government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. Your presence and routine patrols will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, while your strong communication skills and commitment to exceptional customer service will support everyone on site. Pay Rate : $17.25 / Hour

Job Schedule :

DayTimeWed02 : 00 PM - 10 : 00 PM

Thur02 : 00 PM - 10 : 00 PM

Fri02 : 00 PM - 10 : 00 PM

Sat06 : 00 AM - 02 : 00 PM

Sun02 : 00 PM - 10 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related incidents in accordance with company and client protocols.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and staff while on patrol.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points as required by site procedures.
  • Support Allied Universal and client staff during emergencies and / or drills by following established protocols.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration.
  • Possess a Security Professional Guard Card; this is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
