Akima, LLC is hiring : Engineering Technician II (Travel) (PR) in Oklahoma City

Overview

The Contractor shall provide technical services in support of FAALC Product Divisions, covering electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems including troubleshooting, repair, refurbishment, assembly, testing, installation, and related engineering technician services in accordance with FAA and FAALC standards, orders, technical instructions, and quality procedures.

Responsibilities

• NAVAID antenna and component repair and overhaul.
• Rotary joint and drive motor troubleshooting and repair.
• Circuit board testing and repair.
• Production and repair of electronic cables and wire harnesses; performing equipment performance analyses, and information collection and reporting.
• Performing equipment adjustment, testing, and certification.
• Installation of equipment and components, and modifications.
• Installation and maintenance of NAS Radomes.
• Structural inspection of towers and tower components at heights up to 750 feet.
• Maintenance on towers and related systems, including installation, removal and maintenance of antennas, surveillance systems, safety wires, tower guy wires, and obstruction lighting.
• Moderate lifting and carrying, climbing, crawling, and other physical requirements; operation of crane, truck, tractor, or motor vehicle; color vision and hearing requirements as specified.
• Attend required training to maintain knowledge of repair procedures and safety courses.
• Support Preventive Maintenance (PMs) and Corrective Maintenance (CMs) on FAA and interagency systems in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Basic troubleshooting of electronic / electro-mechanical systems, fault isolation, removal and replacement of failed LRUs; training, procedures, or guidance provided.
• Prepare FAA and interagency assets for shipment to and from field sites, vendor locations, and FAALC.
• Enter time into the Data Collection and Reporting System (DCRS) daily for timely billing.
• Keep Crew Leads informed of assigned tasks and status.
• Tower climbing / work at heights (to 750 feet).
• Perform corrosion control and prevention.
• Operate equipment such as boom lifts and motorized forklifts.
• Work from ropes at heights and install electronic and mechanical systems on NAS and Inter-Agency systems.
• Minimum weight restrictions due to fall protection gear : 125 lbs to 290 lbs.
• Travel up to 70% and be prepared for emergency call-outs for corrective maintenance.
• Assist crew lead with workload scheduling and planning; coordinate with internal and external customers on projects.
• Assist junior technicians and provide on-the-job training as required.
• Assist crew lead in project package reviews and provide feedback to internal customers.
