Works with kitchen team to prepare and plate three quality meals daily. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS Maintains a safe and sanitary department according to established rules and regulations.
Assist in receiving in-coming supplies, examines supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications and assists with storage.
Check menu for upcoming meals to assure all necessary ingredients are available Removes frozen meat and poultry items from freezer allowing adequate time for safe thawing.
Reviews and develops recipes based on type of food to be prepared according to therapeutic diets.
Follows standardized menus and recipes.
Cooks or otherwise prepares food according to recipe following the laws of kosher cooking.
Reports equipment needs and supplies needed to the Director.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE) High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
