Must-Have : Experience in diagnostic imaging procedures and compliance with safety standards
Description :
Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.
Perform high-quality images and exams on patients while being sensitive to their needs.
Follow standards of safe radiation practices.
Demonstrate leadership abilities and serve as a role model for other technologists.
Act as a clinical resource to unit personnel and ensure current standards of practice.
Perform diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring safety for self and patients.
Practice all rules and regulations related to radiation safety, reducing exposure to as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA).
Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
Prepare patients for exams.
Provide information and instruction to patients and their families regarding procedures.
Respond to patients' physical and emotional needs.
Assist patients during exams and position them as required.
Observe patients and equipment during procedures and report / document unusual occurrences.
Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment / resources.
Communicate in writing and verbally with physicians, imaging personnel, and hospital staff to support care continuity.
Assist with patient transport as needed.
Perform IV starts and contrast administration when required.
Complete technologist duties of other registered modalities as assigned by management.
Be available for on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours as per department policy.
Correctly input charges and required data for procedures and supplies utilized.
Complete necessary paperwork for each exam performed.
Prepare rooms, equipment, and materials needed for exams.
Maintain the technical operation of equipment and notify service when necessary.
Inform supervisors of equipment issues and log service calls as per procedure.
Maintain a clean work area for employees and patients.
Keep quality checks and equipment maintenance documentation per department procedures.
Be proactive in identifying problems and follow up with appropriate management personnel.
Establish a constructive rapport with physicians, staff, and departments.
Maintain high skill levels through ongoing education and meeting attendance, sharing information with staff.
Participate in clinical training for students and / or staff technologists.
Engage in professional activities through involvement in organizations and education initiatives.
Actively participate in quality and process improvement initiatives within the department / hospital.
Comply with all state, federal, accreditation, and hospital regulations and standards.
Contribute to accreditation as requested.
Demonstrate effective time management and prioritize workload to meet productivity requirements.
Adapt to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, census, and staffing with flexibility.
