Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Complete all aspects of accounting, tax and audit engagements for clients
  • Execute solid understanding of accounting and auditing principles, general tax regulation, general quality control auditing standards, technology implementation procedures, etc. relative to individual client assignments
  • Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks within the time requested
  • Strive to attain charge hour goals
  • Practice in early practice development activities such as : memberships in qualified organizations capable of referring potential engagements
  • Execute administrative duties as assigned
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Preparation of tax returns for private equity and / or hedge fund partnerships
  • Preparation of tax allocations in Excel
  • Research tax issues
  • Put forth a diligent effort to pass CPA Exam and advance technical knowledge
  • Keep current on professional pronouncements
  • Maintain annual CPE requirement
  • Timely communication to all members of engagement team and appropriate client personnel
  • Act as a representative of Marcum, and help identify and recruit candidates
  • Basic technology skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy
  • BBA / BS / MST in Accounting and or Taxation
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Must have completed at least one "busy season"
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
  • The annual salary target for this job in this market is $75,000-$85,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on education, experience and skill set of the individual selected for this position. The compensation above is not representative of an employee's total compensation.
