About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Must-Have : Critical thinking skills

Description :

Unit has a total of 16 beds.

It is an extension of the Emergency Room.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience.

Travelers are required to pass a dysrhythmia exam within 24-48 hours of receiving an offer.

If they do not pass in two attempts, they will be made a Do Not Use for the region.

A pass / fail simulation lab will be conducted on the first day of orientation.

If the traveler fails the simulation, they will be sent home and made Do Not Use for 6 months.

Weekend requirement is every third weekend.

Holidays will rotate with core staff.

Navy scrubs are required.

There are no ventilators, but bipap and cpap are allowed.

A hospitalist will cover call.

Respiratory therapy is available 24 / 7.

Pharmacy services are available 24 / 7.

Floating to any telemetry or medical-surgical floor may be necessary.

Floor-specific orientation is two days on the unit.

Common diagnoses include chest pain rule out myocardial infarction, post-heart catheterization, stable pre-CABG, and post-interventional radiology and endoscopic procedures.

Non-titration medications may include Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Labetalol.

No alcohol withdrawal management will be required unless three days out.

The cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.

The charting system is Cerner.
