CMM Programmer
Position Type : Full-time, on-site
Location : Knoxville, TN
Base Salary Range
- : $60,000 - $65,000 annually
Position Overview :
The CMM Programmer develops and optimizes programs using Zeiss CMM utilizing Calypso software, to ensure manufactured parts meet specified tolerances and quality standards. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, GD&T symbols and analyzing models by using Solidworks CAD software. Assisting in the development and implementation of quality assurance processes and procedures. This includes conducting dimensional inspections, metallurgical inspections, analyzing data to identify trends or defects, and working closely with the manufacturing team to resolve issues.

Duties and Responsibilities :
Using CAD models from Solidworks to develop, validate, and maintain CMM programs for Zeiss CMM utilizing Calypso softwareCreate inspection plans and assist in conducting dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, CMMs, etc.Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams to resolve dimensional issues and improve processes.Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections on precision machined components.Maintain inspection reports, First Article / Final Inspections, and QMS documentationCreate and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), setup sheets, and work instructions for quality inspection processes.Ensure measurement testing equipment is calibrated and functioning properly, as well as manage calibration records and schedule regular calibrations of equipment.Hands-On Approach : Strong practical mentality with a willingness to engage directly in operations.Basic Qualifications and Requirements :
Able to program CMM with experience with Zeiss CalypsoFundamental knowledge of Solidworks 2D sketching, 3D feature-based modelingInspection of precision machined parts including reading drawings, material, and part specifications, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).Maintain a working area in a neat and orderly manner.Maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.Effective teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office and CAD softwarePreferred Qualifications :
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering disciplineExperience in the design or manufacture of firearms or related componentsLean and 5S certification or experienceExperience with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery.Base salary range given as reference only.
