Margate Health and Rehabilitation located in beautiful Jefferson, North Carolina is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our fantastic team of caregivers. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to deliver therapeutic services to residents in a skilled nursing rehabilitation setting. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant helps implement treatment plans to assist residents in improving their ability to perform daily living tasks and achieve maximum independence.
Key Responsibilities :
- Resident Care : Carry out therapy interventions as directed by the Occupational Therapist, focusing on improving residents’ abilities in activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Treatment Implementation : Provide hands-on assistance during therapy sessions, using exercises, activities, and assistive devices to promote functional abilities.
- Progress Monitoring : Observe and document residents’ progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the Occupational Therapist.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate and timely records of all therapy sessions, including treatment details, resident progress, and any modifications made to treatment plans.
- Resident & Family Education : Instruct residents and their families on how to continue therapeutic exercises and use adaptive equipment at home, as guided by the Occupational Therapist.
- Collaboration : Work closely with the Occupational Therapist, nursing staff, and other rehabilitation professionals to coordinate care and ensure that the resident’s treatment goals are met.
- Compliance : Adhere to facility policies and state / federal regulations, ensuring proper care standards are maintained at all times.
Qualifications :
Education : Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.Certification : Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in North Carolina.Licensure : Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in North Carolina.Experience : Preferably 1-2 years of experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting, but new graduates will be considered.Skills :Knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and assistive devices.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team.Compassionate and resident-focused approach to care.At SanStone Health & Rehabilitation, we offer employment opportunities in North Carolina that are filled with purpose.
