$304,116.80 / yr - $380,182.40 / yr
San Mateo County Health's Department of Psychiatry at the San Mateo Medical Center is looking for a 30-hour per week (0.75 FTE) Adult Psychiatrist to join our core medical staff in the Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) on the night shift (5 : 00 PM - 8 : 00 AM).
Compensation :
Salary : Inpatient psychiatrists receive a 10% premium over the base pay listed above. An additional 5% salary increase is provided for each qualifying board certification (up to two boards). Salary is prorated for part-time. Night-shift differential : All psychiatrists receive a 12% shift differential for work between 5 PM and 8 AM.

Staff psychiatrists may work in the psychiatric emergency department, locked acute inpatient unit, medical-surgical and long-term care floors in a consultation-liaison role, and / or at a long-term subacute psychiatric facility. Specific duties and schedule depend on current need.
San Mateo Medical Center is the County of San Mateo's public hospital and clinics health care system. The main hospital campus includes 30 inpatient psych beds and a 24-hour psychiatric emergency unit, plus a medical emergency department, 70 med-surg / ICU beds, and 30 rehab beds.

The Psychiatric Residency Training Program is based at the Medical Center, and staff psychiatrists are invited to join the faculty and participate in training residents and psychology interns. San Mateo Medical Center has engaged in Lean transformation (LEAP : Learn, Engage, Aspire, Perfect). Ideal candidates value continuous improvement. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred.

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical qualification : Board Certification or completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program.

The examination will be an interview (weight : 100%). Depending on applicants, education / experience appraisal or screening may be used.
