Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele Float Pool position requiring a current MA RN license and rotating 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the hospital Nursing Float Pool covering Med / Surg Tele units
  • Patient ratios typically range from 1 : 4 to 1 : 6
  • Required to float to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and boarding units
  • 12-hour rotating shifts with four-week blocks of days (7a-7 : 30p) and nights (7p-7 : 30a)
  • Every other weekend required; day shift weekends are Saturday and Sunday, night shift weekends are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • Floating may occur in four-hour blocks during shifts
  • Required to pass Tele / ECG and medication competency tests on the first day
  • Relias practice tests will be provided before clinical testing
  • No time off will be approved during the Christmas holiday period
  • Strict 50-mile radius rule; local candidates are not considered except in rare cases
  • Weekly Monday start dates throughout the assignment
  • Parking may be costly, up to $43 per day in Boston

    • Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required for consideration
  • Current AHA BLS certification required
  • ACLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications are preferred
  • Level 1 trauma experience preferred; if no prior travel, Level 1 trauma experience is required
  • Must be separated from any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility employment for at least 6 months to be eligible
  • COVID vaccine and booster, and flu vaccination required, with medical exemptions allowed
