Position Overview
CARIAN is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to oversee the execution of electric transmission, substation, and distribution projects for a utility client. This role will be part of a hybrid delivery model supporting capital project lifecycles from planning through close-out. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, deep familiarity with utility operations, and the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of capital projects across transmission, substation, and distribution scopes
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, reporting, and risk for multiple active projects
- Coordinate with internal client departments and external vendors for seamless delivery
- Oversee contract administration, project documentation, and stakeholder communication
- Conduct regular check-ins with field teams and escalate key risks or changes
- Track key performance indicators and report project status to client leadership
- Drive project planning, execution readiness, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of experience managing utility, construction, or engineering projectsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldExperience coordinating across planning, design, procurement, and construction functionsProven success delivering multi-disciplinary infrastructure projectsStrong communication and leadership skills; comfortable liaising with clients and vendorsProficiency with Microsoft Office and project management softwarePMP Certification (Required)Ability to visit client sites as neededPreferred Qualifications
