Description :

McClure Engineering is searching for a Mechanical Engineering student to be a part of our 8 month Co-Op Program.

  • Solve problems of a complex nature, in both the design and construction phases of the project
  • Perform energy and load calculations, airflow and pressure drop calculations, equipment sizing, system design and layout
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical Drafter / Designers on the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications)
  • Research commercially available equipment and selecting equipment appropriate for project / client needs
  • Perform field inspections to verify existing site conditions
  • Capacity to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Learn multiple engineering calculations to be implemented on multiple projects
  • Provide excellent communication to stakeholders and team members
  • Build relationships with industry professionals and fellow Co-Ops through networking events and company activities

Requirements :

  • Pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • Successfully Completed Sophomore or Junior year
  • Cumulative GPA at 3.3 or above
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear documentation and effective user support
  • Capable of engaging in physical activities such as climbing, kneeling, crouching and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • The Work Environment :

  • Work environment is primarily indoors at firms’ facility, with approximately 10% of time spent indoors / outdoors at project or construction sites where hard-hat and other safety gear is often required. (PPE is provided by firm.)
  • While performing field work associated with this position employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and carry and / or climb ladders of varying heights. The employee may lift and / or move items over 50 pounds.
