CMA Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs peripheral blood draws, enters orders in the EMR and sends blood to the laboratory per tube system.
Obtains and records patient vital signs, may include weight and height.
Floats to various oncology departments, performing duties as assigned or needed.
Assists with patient transfers.
Transports blood products from the hospital laboratory to the Infusion Unit.
Assists with relieving staff for breaks for the medical oncology clinic and for the infusion unit secretary.
Assists with a variety of minor procedures, exams or operation of diagnostic equipment as assigned
Maintains inventory of supplies. Performs miscellaneous office duties including, but not limited to, filing and retrieving medical records, operating various office machines, ex. Fax machine, Copier.
Administers IM and subcutaneous medications as directed
Demonstrates professionalism at all times.
Provides patient education as indicated.
Demonstrates the ability to perform patient care functions relevant to the need and behaviors of all demographics and age groups.
Practices and behaves in a professional, safe and ethical manner at all times.
Serves as a patient advocate.

Phlebotomist Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs phlebotomy by obtaining blood specimens and collecting non-blood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs for laboratory testing.
Accurately and efficiently processes and distributes results to Health Information Management and Physicians.
Prepares and send out all reference lab work, completing necessary paperwork.
Accessions all Lab orders into the LIS.
Performs screening tests, such as drug screens, performs BAT and processes paternity cases.
Performs community wellness drives as requested by the Laboratory Director.
Performs EKG's on inpatients and outpatients. Does therapeutic phlebotomies.
Resolves ambiguous and / or unusual test orders by contacting the physician of the order, pathologist, nursing station, or reference laboratory. Refers unresolved orders back to the originator for further clarification before collecting samples or processing specimens. Makes the supervisor aware of unresolved orders.
May perform front desk duties such as answering the phone and registering outpatients.

Experience as a Phlebotomist preferred.
80 hours training in the proper procedure of performing venipuncture.

LPN Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prioritizes needs identified by assessment, incorporating specialized knowledge base, and makes changes based on patient / family needs. Obtains and records vital signs, current weight and height.
Coordinates ongoing patient flow through the clinic process, ensuring efficient and effective continuity, i.e. greeting patients, scheduling and rescheduling appointments as needed, taking phone calls, setting up future diagnostic testing and labs, and making referrals as instructed.
Ensures lab work and radiology procedures are completed and results are available for Medical Oncologist.
Utilizes other members of the healthcare team in assessing the patient and analyzing patient data.
Assesses learning needs of the patient and caregivers. Evaluates understanding of treatment plan and / or instructions.
Assists with a variety of procedures and exams as assigned.
Performs laboratory testing, including phlebotomy, if requested.
Assures the charge sheet is filled out by the provider indicating the level of service provided.
Respond to emergency medical situations in an urgent manner and perform on the spot emergency assistance which may include first aid and / or CPR.
Assists with maintaining an inventory of supplies.
Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities to improve performance.
Completes all CEU’s as required by respective licensure. If licensed, maintains an active and current license.

CNA / Technician Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Patient Care
Prepare patient for examination by obtaining vital signs and escorting them to the appropriate exam room.
Assists patients as needed with mobility, dressing, positioning, and transfers.
Clinical and Administrative Support
Prepare exam and procedure rooms following sanitation protocols and ensures supplies are stocked.
Completes assigned clinical documentation, messages, and tasks within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Facilitate communication between patients and the care team by handling phone calls, messages, and relaying clinical information appropriately.
Coordinates follow-up appointments, referrals, and procedure scheduling per provider direction.
Monitors and replenishes inventory, notifying leadership of supply needs.

Eligible to take and pass the state competency and skills testing for registry status.
Licensure and Certification
Completion of state-approved Nurse Aid Training preferred.
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
