Job Overview

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients.

Assist with the coordination of laboratory projects or research studies in the area of stress neurobiology. Make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience.

Essential Functions

  • Perform animal behavior experiments and record data according to research protocols.
  • Perform statistical and graphical analysis of data.
  • May assist with small animal surgery.
  • Assist with animal colony management and genotyping.
  • Perform analysis of biological samples (e.g., PCR, immunohistochemistry).
  • Develop and test new laboratory procedures and experimental protocols.
  • Provide direct and / or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., training of new personnel, overseeing student workers or summer fellows, etc.).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and / or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
  • Required Experience

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.
