Position Purpose

Delivers rigorous instruction to students in order to promote intellectual, social, and physical growth; ensures that regardless of socioeconomic factors every child is prepared for accelerated learning to compete in a global economy. Provides standards-based, data-driven, differentiated instruction that engages students. Creates a safe and supportive learning environment to maximize student learning.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education :

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university required;
  • Major in Education or a related field to subject being taught preferred.

    • Certification / License :

  • Valid Texas Teaching Certification in the subject and level of assignment;
  • Acceptance in an approved Alternative Certification Program (ACP) and have passed the required prerequisite examinations for subject area and grade-level.

    • Experience :

    Working at inner-city schools with diverse student populations preferred.

    Language :

  • Bilingual (English / Spanish oral and written) or ESL Certification preferred;
  • If Teaching Core Subject Area to English Learners, Bilingual (English / Spanish oral and written) or ESL Certification is required.
