Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for our New Free Standing Endoscopy Unit . This is a Full Time, Day shift in Charlottesville, VA!

Schedule : Five 8-hour shifts : The Start time is variable between 630am and 8am.

No Nights or weekends!

This role will support our new outpatient Endoscopy unit opening January 2026! No Call Required. Training will be within the main hospital endoscopy unit.

PASS- Pre-Anesthesia Screening Services Registered Nurse primary duties will include chart review, intake and screening for our endoscopy patients at the new Free Standing Endoscopy Center. Candidates will cross train to work with our pre / post team in the 12 bed bay or procedural team for documentation. This role is primarily in office working with patients over the phone for screening and intake. Ideal candidates will have GI, Anesthesia and Epic Experience preferred.

Endoscopy Unit :

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital's Digestive Care Center's board-certified gastroenterologists, including two Gastroenterology physicians and a colorectal surgeon, treat a variety of diseases affecting the gallbladder, liver, mouth, stomach, intestines, pancreas, colon, and esophagus. The new department will have 4 procedure rooms. NO call is required but is available for additional hours in the main Endoscopy unit.

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice / nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Education

Degree in Registered Nursing required

BSN or MSN Preferred

Certification / Licensure

BLS within 90 days of hire

ACLS within 6 months of hire

Registered Nursing License

Experience

Previous Endoscopy experience preferred

18 months of nursing experience required

MS office suite and clerical skills preferred

GI, Anesthesia and Epic Experience preferred.

Team work and communication skills required
