Position Summary :

The Field Engineer will be responsible for assisting in on-site construction activities, ensuring quality control, and coordinating with subcontractors and vendors. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in construction operations and project execution. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Location :

Cecil County, MD (Elk Neck State Park)

Qualifications & Certifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of field experience in construction or engineering-related work.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification (required or must obtain within the first 90 days).
  • American Concrete Institute (ACI) Certification (preferred).
  • Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector (CESCI) (preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with teams and subcontractors.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of how to operate a computer

Responsibilities / Duties :

  • Assist in monitoring field operations to ensure work is performed in compliance with contract documents and project specifications.
  • Perform on-site inspections and quality control checks.
  • Support the project team with layout and survey coordination.
  • Track and report daily project progress, including work completed and potential delays.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Assist in resolving field issues by working closely with superintendents and project managers.
  • Maintain and update project drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
  • Ensure adherence to all site safety protocols and participate in safety meetings.
  • Assist with project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily reports.
