Kaiser plan fully covered for Employee and dependents Optional Life, Long Term Disability, Critical Illness, Identity Theft Protection and Accident Insurance Generous paid time off, including 16 paid holidays which includes the week between Christmas and New Years 2 Floating Holidays (16 hours) 401K Plan with company match up to 6% Position : Director of Resident Services Location : Sacramento, CA (Hybrid – on-site and regional travel required) Hours : Full Time, Exempt Compensation : $90,000 per year Job Summary : The Director of Resident Services provides visionary leadership for Mutual Housing’s Resident Services programs, which operate at 20–25 affordable housing communities (with plans to grow to 30+ in the coming years).This position oversees a team of three Resident Services Managers and 14–16 Resident Service Coordinators, ensuring high-quality program delivery, strong partnerships, and positive resident outcomes.This role is based at our Sacramento corporate office and requires some travel to sites across Sacramento and Yolo Counties.Responsibilities :
Strategic Leadership & Program Oversight Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems that support Resident Services programs.Lead strategic visioning for Resident Services, ensuring alignment with Mutual Housing’s mission and Strategic Plan.Oversee service planning, data collection, outcome evaluation, and program reporting.Collaborate with the Director of Community Engagement to integrate community organizing and resident programming into service delivery.Team Management & Development Supervise and support Resident Services Managers and their teams.Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture.Establish clear performance goals, provide training, and support professional development.Lead recruiting, onboarding, and staff retention initiatives for Resident Services.Cross-Department & Partner Collaboration Partner with Property Operations to promote resident stability, safety, and engagement.Collaborate with the Housing Development team on new property planning, including service design, budgeting, and partner coordination.Cultivate and manage relationships with social service providers, funders, and community partners, particularly for Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) sites.Program Evaluation & Reporting Oversee data management and evaluation systems to track resident outcomes.Ensure timely and accurate reporting for funders, internal leadership, and the Board of Directors.Use data insights to drive continuous program improvement.Financial Management & Fundraising Manage Resident Services budgets and ensure fiscal responsibility across sites.Support fundraising efforts in collaboration with the Resource Development team, including grant writing, funder relations, and reporting.Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; advanced degree preferred.Experience :
Minimum 8 years of experience in property-based or community-based social services.Minimum 4 years of management experience, including supervision of other managers.Experience with Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) models, Housing First, and collaboration with behavioral health providers preferred.Skills & Competencies :
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.Proven ability to manage diverse teams and foster an inclusive work environment.Experience with program evaluation, budget management, and grant oversight.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems.Cultural competence and sensitivity when working with low-income and diverse communities.Must successfully pass criminal, DOJ, and other background checks.NO CALLS FROM STAFFING AGENCIES OR RECRUITERS PLEASEPowered by JazzHR
