American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC / Stepdown) position requiring an active IL RN license and strong telemetry skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC / Stepdown / PCU) unit of an acute care hospitalDay shift with 3x12 or 4x12 hour options, 6 : 45-19 : 15Care for patients requiring telemetry, neuro stepdown, post-cardiac and post-neurosurgical managementEvery other weekend work requiredFloating to other units or affiliate hospitals is required as neededCerner is used for charting; prior Cerner experience preferredLevel I trauma center and Magnet facilityProvide specialized nursing care to a diverse patient population including cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and trauma casesTeam support in a large, 562-bed hospital with teaching and Level I trauma resourcesFirst time travelers are not accepted for this positionScrub color is any solid colorMust work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignmentNo mileage radius restriction for local candidatesParking permit provided at no costUp to 5 days of non-holiday time off is permitted without facility approvalAll required onboarding modules must be completed virtually on the first day\n \n Requirements\n
Active IL RN license required at time of applicationMinimum 1 year of recent IMC / Stepdown / PCU / Telemetry nursing experience requiredExperience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias requiredCompetence in neuro, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, orthopedic, and plastic surgery cases relevant to IMCCertifications required : BLS and NIHSS (AHA or Red Cross only; RQI not accepted); ACLS preferredExperience with rapid response teams, wound care, wound vac, and isolation precautions requiredMust be able to interpret and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as indicatedMust not have been a permanent or PRN employee of the facility within the previous 12 months\n Benefits\n
