Specifics about this position 0700-330, M-F. No holidays or weekends. The scheduler is placed at a desk in the main OR and works very closely in a fast-paced environment! Has to build great relationship with surgeons and anesthesia, works closely with the OR charge RN and our supply specialist.

Responsible for aligning the OR schedule in epic for surgical cases. Attention to detail is a must! Any medical terminology experience would be very beneficial for this job. This staff member would also be responsible for creating the OR staff schedule in tandem with the charge RN, managing PTO requests, and updating the anesthesia schedule. We work very closely with cardiology and endoscopy as well to ensure they have anesthesia resources for their patients as well.

Job Summary : Responsible for collecting data directly from patients and referring provider offices to confirm and create scheduled appointments for patient services.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements :

• Coordinates scheduling and referrals to other healthcare providers and services. Obtains approval for schedule changes or cancellations as appropriate.
• Assists with maintenance and updating of provider contact information.
• Ensures that all medical appointments, special instructions, and patient information is entered into the electronic medical system.
• Follows site-specific protocols and maintains up-to-date documentation to ensure compliance.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities and participates in improvement plans.
• Works on special projects as needed.
• May review the work of others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
