The Travel Coordinator will manage all travel and logistical arrangements for NOAA's in-person meetings, ensuring seamless participant experiences. This role supports travel booking, reimbursements, and local transport planning.
RESPONSBILITIES :
- Arrange travel for NOAA committee members, including booking flights and securing hotel reservations.
- Collect and process travel-related receipts and invoices; issue reimbursements in line with federal guidelines.
- Calculate per diem rates and ensure compliance with travel expense policies.
- Coordinate local transportation, including site visits, vehicle arrangements, and expense management (tolls, parking, fees).
- Serve as the point of contact for travel-related inquiries and troubleshoot participant issues.
- Support onsite logistics in collaboration with the Project Manager during meetings, as needed.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Experience coordinating travel for groups, preferably with federal or nonprofit organizations.
- Strong knowledge of federal travel guidelines and reimbursement processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple itineraries and deadlines.
- Strong communication and customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in handling travel-related documentation and expense tracking.
- Availability to travel onsite for meetings and support logistics in person, as needed.
