Material Handler

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of materials throughout the production process. Your duties will include pulling materials for production, operating a sit-down forklift, and maintaining high inventory accuracy. You will also be involved in receiving and locating incoming products, conducting cycle counts, and consolidating inventory as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Pull materials for production to restocking area as needed.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift daily.
  • Read and understand work orders and instructions.
  • Receive all incoming products and collaborate with purchasing on any issues.
  • Locate all incoming material to appropriate storage space.
  • Maintain high-level inventory accuracy.
  • Perform regular cycle counts.
  • Consolidate inventory as needed.
  • Maintain visual inventory processes for certain items.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trailers in the shipping area.
  • Lead 5S and other Lean efforts within the work area.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
  • Ensure the area is clean and organized.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as requested by management.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ year in a material handler role with some experience in warehouse and production.
  • 1+ year experience operating a sit-down forklift.
  • 1+ year using visual inspection.
  • 6 months experience using RF Scan gun and basic computer knowledge.

    • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with material handling, packing, picking, and assembly.
  • Proficient in inventory management and inspection.
  • Ability to handle heavy lifting and general production tasks.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is climate-controlled, with approximately 40% of time spent in the warehouse and 60% in the manufacturing area. Standard working hours are from 6am to 3 : 30pm, Monday through Thursday, and Friday from 6am to noon, or until the work is completed. During certain periods, hours may extend to 6am to 4 : 30pm, two weeks a month minimum.

    This is a Contract position based out of Maryland Heights, Missouri.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00 / hr.
