Overview
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Firmware and Embedded design and development to sit in Chester, CT. This role involves developing, integrating and supporting hardware and embedded firmware for new product development and sustaining engineering projects. The engineer will work in a Product Design environment, perform hands-on embedded firmware / hardware development, and collaborate cross-functionally to bring designs from concept to manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate and support hardware and embedded firmware for new product development and sustaining engineering projects.
- Lead hands-on embedded software / hardware development and cross-functional collaboration (schematics, proof of concept, and product design from intake to manufacturing).
- Work in an Agile environment and contribute to product design cycles from concept through manufacturing.
- Act as the Design Engineer for the allocated product project, ensuring documentation and design practices meet requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.7+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer working through an entire product lifecycle with Embedded Firmware development.Proficient in firmware development with C programming language.Experience with hardware development, creating schematics and proof of concept.Past experience in Product Design with Embedded Firmware / Hardware development and familiarity with Agile environments.Experience with CAD tools.Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with C++ and CAD software.Experience in automotive or aviation industries.Experience with PCBs (printed circuit boards).Familiar with CAN, USB, Ethernet and other common communication protocols.Familiar with embedded Linux development.Seniority level
