Assistant Director of Dietary – Skilled Nursing Facility

A well-established skilled nursing facility in Northern New Jersey is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Dietary to lead its food service department. This is a full-time leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of dietary operations, ensuring high-quality meal service, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage daily operations of the dietary department, including staffing, scheduling, and inventory
Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian to ensure nutritional needs are met
Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local regulations
Develop and implement menus that meet therapeutic and cultural needs
Train and supervise dietary staff to uphold sanitation and service standards
Coordinate with nursing and administrative teams to support resident care plans
Monitor food safety protocols and conduct regular audits
Qualifications :
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or equivalent required
Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory dietary role, preferably in long-term care
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Knowledge of DOH regulations and dietary compliance standards
ServSafe certification preferred
