Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cable Assembler to join our team, where you will be responsible for assembling fiber optic cables and wire harnesses. You will be provided with your own station and tools to complete your tasks efficiently. Your role will involve assembling and testing the performance of all manufactured cables and sub-assemblies, ensuring high-quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test the performance of manufactured cables and sub-assemblies.
• Perform mechanical assembly of small equipment using hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment.
• Interpret and work from electromechanical schematics, drawings, work instructions, and bills of material.
• Mount complex assembled components using hand tools and test instrumentation.
• Connect component lead wires and route wires between components, connectors, and terminals.
• Position and align parts in specified relationships using jigs and fixtures.
• Perform operations such as crimping, soldering, and welding to secure parts in place.
• Use automated cable test equipment and multimeters for testing.
• Inspect parts and perform basic tests, documenting work on production records and logs.
• Route and lace cables, install components and parts on various units.
• Attach hardware and seal assemblies.

Work Environment

Work a 9 / 80 schedule : Monday to Thursday from 7 : 15 AM to 4 : 45 PM, and off every other Friday. On working Fridays, the hours are 7 : 15 AM to 3 : 45 PM. Opportunities for overtime may be available. The work environment is collaborative and interactive, with access to all levels of the organization.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00 / hr.
