American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 2+ years of recent inpatient and outpatient experience and New Mexico PT license for a contract covering both pediatric and adult populations.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in both inpatient and outpatient settings with a mix of acute and OP caseloadsDepartment covers physical, speech, and occupational therapy servicesPatient population includes adults and pediatrics from birth through 18 years oldTherapists may float between departments and local locations within 20 miles as neededTypical schedule is 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with one weekend (Saturday-Sunday) per monthPediatric therapists may need to float to adult units if pediatric census is lowUses Epic EMR; on-site training availableRole involves evaluating and treating patients across a range of rehabilitation needs, including developmental and physical disordersWill coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement comprehensive rehab programsResponsibilities include setting and meeting discharge goals, patient advocacy, and patient / family education for self-determination and resource utilizationMust demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the lifespanTherapists will float as required, and coverage areas can include inpatient, long-term care, community-based care, and home health careReturn staff must have a 1-year gap before being eligible for rehire as a travelerBasic orientation and on-site training provided as neededProfessional or business casual attire appropriate for a healthcare setting\n \n Requirements\n
Current New Mexico Physical Therapist license required if applicableMinimum two years of current experience in both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy requiredAt least one previous 13-week travel assignment requiredBachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy required; Doctorate preferredBLS certification through AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross requiredAt least one year of pediatric PT experience required if working with pedsBasic computer skills and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment requiredMust live at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)\n Benefits\n
