Job Description
The Corporate Engagement Officer is responsible for securing funds for Roadrunner Food Bank from corporations and businesses of all sizes, including unrestricted and restricted gifts, cause-related marketing campaigns, and event sponsorships. The position is responsible for attracting, retaining and stewarding corporate / business donors, as well as tracking and reporting contacts and results to meet annual budget objectives. In collaboration and close communication with the Mission Advancement Officer, Development Officer ABQ and LC, and the Manager of Volunteer Programs in ABQ and LC and other key food bank staff, this position will help to strengthen the corporate giving pipeline systems that lead donors to increase engagement and funding.
Primary Responsibilities
Key Result Area #1 – Strategic Development
Create annual and long-term budget goals / targets for assigned portfolio based on the donor’s history of giving, the company / business budget priorities and timelines, and knowledge of the donor’s giving potential.Leverage existing relationships in order to create new opportunities by identifying donors with the affinity and capability to give more based-on prospect research and donor / prospect interactions.Work diligently to identify new potential corporate donors / volunteers by actively networking in the community and utilizing available ‘leads’ resources.Key Result Area #2 – Cultivation and Solicitation
Design engagement plans and menus of opportunities for each key corporate donor.Regularly make phone calls, send handwritten cards and update emails and conduct face-to- face visits to thank, update, cultivate and solicit donors and prospects utilizing Salesforce Dashboards.Identify corporations and businesses that have a matching gift program and ensure that employees that contribute to Roadrunner are aware of their ability to have their contributions matched by their employer.Represent Roadrunner Food Bank at a variety of donor and prospective donor cultivation opportunities.Key Result Area #3 – Stewardship
Ensure that donor information is kept current and donor interactions are consistently documented in Salesforce, the organization’s donor management system.Retain assigned portfolio donors and minimize attrition through active follow-up and stewardship efforts including the creation of an effective and regular communication strategy in compliance with Roadrunner’s communications standards and brand identity.Key Result Area #4 – Collaboration and Teamwork
Develop strong and collaborative working relationships with members of the Development Team to ensure donor engagement is coordinated.Develop strong and collaborative working relationships with other staff who serve as subject matter experts and content resources to ensure effective and up-to-date messaging for donors / prospects.Provide staffing support to large-scale ‘all hands on deck’ events and initiatives that impact the overall development program or organization.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of directly related experience to this positionMinimum of three years nonprofit fundraising or sales experienceExperience working with Salesforce or other donor CRM systemExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams or Zoom virtual platformsSuccessful experience on the phone in making cold callsSuccessful experience in developing / implementing cultivation and solicitation strategiesMust be able to travel throughout the state when neededMust be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekendsPreferred Qualifications
