Description :

The unit has a total of 35 beds.

There are 160 staff members on the unit.

Day shift includes 2 charge nurses, 24 RNs, 5 Surgical Techs, 1 OR Aide, 1 Transport Tech, 1 Secretary, and 1 Scheduler.

Night shift consists of 2 charge nurses and 21 RNs, along with 4 Surgical Techs, 1 OR Aide, 1 Secretary.

Patient ratios are 1 : 1 or 2 : 1 for laboring patients, 2 : 1 for Antepartum care and testing, and 2 : 1 for PACU recovery.

Typical procedures performed include vaginal delivery, cesarean sections, and continuous electronic fetal monitoring.

The unit utilizes Hill-Rom birthing beds, Alaris IV pumps, GE core metrics FM, Panda warmers, CADD Solis epidural pumps, and NOVI wireless FME.

The electronic medical record system in use is CPN (Centricity) and Meditech.

Preferred skills include OR circulation for cesarean sections and placement of fetal scalp electrodes and intrauterine pressure catheters.

The dress code includes wearing scrub colors in royal blue.

The unit is recognized with a Baby Friendly designation.

Additional offerings include a 13-bed maternal assessment center for triage of pregnant patients.

Ancillary services are available 24 / 7, including anesthesia, neonatal support, laborist, and hospitalist services.
