Job Summary :
The Phlebotomy Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and scheduling phlebotomy staff to ensure efficient operations and quality service. This role includes staff supervision, training, and performance management, as well as assisting with blood draws when needed. Key duties include reviewing and approving timesheets, monitoring compliance and specimen turnaround times, conducting skills assessments, and coordinating with other departments to maintain service excellence. The supervisor also manages hiring decisions in collaboration with operations, addresses customer concerns, ensures regulatory compliance, and oversees supplies and route accuracy.
Responsibilities :
- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of phlebotomy personnel.
- Oversee administrative functions including time sheet review, payroll approval, route sheet audits, and compliance tracking.
- Support recruitment efforts by interviewing, selecting, and onboarding staff in partnership with operations and HR.
- Conduct training, skills assessments, and ongoing competency evaluations for phlebotomy staff.
- Monitor performance and issue corrective actions as needed in line with HR and compliance guidance.
- Maintain communication across departments (Laboratory, Dispatch, QA, Customer Service) to ensure smooth workflow.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
- Address and resolve customer service concerns, QA issues, and performance challenges.
- Track supplies and place orders to ensure field staff are adequately equipped.
- Provide field support with specimen collection when required.
Schedule :
Full time - Monday-Friday : 7am-3 : 30pm
Qualifications :
Active Phlebotomy License / Certification (as required by state) and ability to provide current documentation to Compliance.Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience with strong knowledge of specimen collection, preservation, and patient preparation.Valid state driver's license and proof of insurance.Strong communication, organizational, and basic managerial skills, including time management, decision-making, and sound judgment.
