Associate Mixed-Animal Veterinarian

Tallgrass Veterinary Hospital a true 50 / 50 mixed animal practice located in Concordia, Kansas. We are located 45 min north of Salina and 75 min Northwest of Manhattan. Currently, we are a 4-doctor practice seeking a 5th doctor. We have 5 very skilled technicians who help us run at peak efficiency. We also have two full-time reception staff, an inventory manager, and an office manager who are all capable of hands-on assistance as well. We pride ourselves in the capabilities of our exceptional support staff and their hands on skills and knowledge. Here at Tallgrass Veterinary Hospital, we see a wide variety of animals and cases ranging from bovine dystocias to companion animal internal medicine cases. While we are 50 / 50 as a whole, we all have our niche, such as orthopedic surgery, carcass scanning, canine reproduction, etc. Case load and variety is season and person dependent. We are a mid-level referral hospital due to our orthopedic and soft tissue surgery capabilities as well as our excellent facilities and resources that allow us to provide more intense care for both large and small animal patients. We see patients from all over the state of Kansas as well as clients traveling from Nebraska.

Concordia is a thriving town of approximately 5000 and is the county seat for a county of approximatley 10000. The community offers a new hospital with excellent care and capabilities, a fantastic school system, Cloud County Community College, a multitude of churches and a vibrant downtown. Concordia is the regional shopping hub for citizens in this region. There are many great restaurants, businesses and amenities. Agriculture and it's supporting businesses are the core of this community. Recreational and fitnesss opportunities include : The Republican River, Jamestown Wildlife Area, Waconda Lake, walking trails, several parks, gyms and fitness centers.

• Expectations :

We are looking for a Mixed-Animal Associate with a focus on Cow / Calf Production, Herd Health with at least one year of practice or clinical experience. The ideal candidate would be interested in doing and learning everything while you find and pursue your passions in veterinary medicine. We are expecting a committed and eager veterinarian that is excited to come to work every day and learn new things. Upon hire, we will provide assistance in the adjustment of seeing your own appointments and taking emergency shifts. You will never be expected to do things on your own. Even after years of working at TVH, you will always have another veterinarian or technician to share thoughts with or ask for help. Between the 4 current doctors, we have over 45 years of experience and we'd love to share what we've learned. We are a team and we expect a new associate to have the same mindset. The current on-call schedule for our four doctors is one evening a week and one weekend a month. Following a weekend on call, doctors are encouraged to take a day off to make up for the extra hours worked. Starting a new job in a new place can be intimidating, but we are here to provide you with the knowledge and resources to be successful, confident, and become the best doctor you can be.

Pay : $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
