Electromechanical Systems Reliability Technician

Location : Downingtown, PA

Picture your afternoon starting at 3 : 00 pm : you review a schematic for a packaging line upgrade, lock out a conveyor, and bring a VFD online after tuning its parameters. A production supervisor radios in about an intermittent fault—your multimeter, PLC software, and knack for troubleshooting isolate a failing starter. By 11 : 00 pm, the line is humming, controls are stable, and you’ve logged updates for the next shift.

What you’ll tackle

  • Apply deep knowledge of electrical theory, NEC standards, materials, and electrical equipment operation to keep systems safe and reliable.
  • Start up and shut down equipment following company safety procedures and OSHA requirements for activation and shutdown.
  • Use electrical test equipment to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical devices.
  • Service electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, and similar devices.
  • Measure, cut, thread, pull, and install electrical conduit; use trade-appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Install conduits, transformers, pull boxes, and switches.
  • Service and repair starters, motors, and a variety of electrical apparatus.
  • Fabricate non‑commercially available parts using common machine and hand tools.
  • Determine needs, analyze conditions, and make running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electric controls, motor control centers (MCCs), and programmable logic controls (PLCs).
  • Install and repair electrical equipment; design electrical control circuits; install electrical wiring.
  • Identify equipment and material requirements for projects; read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Coordinate project needs with Maintenance and Production Supervisors / Managers.
  • Assist with training and upskilling maintenance personnel and production associates (machine operators).
  • Continually demonstrate proficiency consistent with the role’s job-skill requirements.
  • Participate in plant emergencies as required; maintain certifications / training as directed to respond effectively.
  • Provide leadership aligned with all safety programs.

What you bring

  • 5 years of journey-level industrial maintenance experience installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand safety protocols and equipment manuals written in English.
  • Blueprint / schematic literacy and the ability to determine and correct causes of equipment failure.
  • Knowledge of low and high voltage systems and core wiring practices.
  • Experience performing precision equipment alignments.
  • Hands-on background in fabrication, installation, and maintenance of production and support equipment (e.g., arc welders, oxy-acetylene torches, saws, drills, grinders, pumps, engines).
  • Meets all testing / training requirements.
  • Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting skills, electrical troubleshooting, and 120 / 208 / 240 / 480 Voltage Systems.
