Automotive Used Car Manager
Landmark Ford, Inc., a part of the Landmark Automotive Group in Springfield, Illinois, is a leading automotive dealership dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and a wide selection of quality vehicles, for over 50 years. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Used Car Manager to oversee our pre-owned vehicle department and drive profitability. Job Summary :
As the Used Car Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success of the pre-owned vehicle department. This includes managing daily operations, leading and motivating the sales team, sourcing, appraising and acquiring inventory, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. You will work closely with the General Sales Manager to develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed department goals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Inventory Management : Oversee all aspects of the used car inventory, including acquisition, reconditioning, pricing, merchandising, and display.
- Sales Strategy : Develop and implement effective sales plans and processes to drive growth, increase profitability, and meet sales goals.
- Team Leadership : Lead, coach, train, motivate, and manage the used car sales team to ensure high performance and compliance with dealership policies.
- Customer Satisfaction : Ensure a positive and personalized car-buying experience for every customer. Promptly and professionally handle any customer issues or concerns.
- Financial Performance : Monitor sales data, track key performance metrics, and manage the department's budget to maximize profitability.
- Market Awareness : Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and local market conditions to adjust strategies as needed.
- Dealer Relations : Work with dealers and wholesalers to acquire and negotiate for inventory.
Qualifications :
Proven track record of success as an Automotive Used Car Manager or in a similar sales management role.Minimum of three years of experience in automotive sales and acquisitions.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Expert knowledge of used car sales, dealership operations, and automotive financing.Strong proficiency with CRM software (e.g., VIN Solutions) and inventory management tools (e.g., VAuto, Kelly Blue Book, etc.).Excellent negotiation and closing skills.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.What Landmark Ford offers :
