We are seeking a dependable, hands-on, and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to join our team in Hanover, MD. This individual will play a key role in overseeing daily operations while supporting the selection and implementation of new warehouse technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, proven warehouse experience, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, labeling, weighing, loading / unloading, and staging cargo.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, including OSHA requirements, company procedures, and security protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and training to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Oversee inventory control, including cycle counts, stock reconciliation, and audits.
  • Verify shipment accuracy against manifests, bills of lading, and packing lists.
  • Ensure forklifts and equipment are operated safely and maintained appropriately.
  • Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and proper storage standards at all times.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, motivate, and mentor warehouse team members to achieve daily operational goals.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new and existing staff on procedures, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and respect.
  • Support onboarding, coaching, and ongoing development of warehouse staff.
  • Act as the point of contact for warehouse operations and customer coordination.
  • Serve as acting manager in the absence of warehouse management.
  • Customer & Communication Focus

  • Communicate professionally with customers, operations staff, and external partners.
  • Provide timely updates on shipment status, special handling requirements, and any operational challenges.
  • Maintain a customer-first mindset, ensuring that service expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Handle inquiries, problem-solve efficiently, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • System & Process Improvement

  • Participate in the research, evaluation, and implementation of a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) to improve visibility, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and management to align WMS and Transportation Management System (TMS) capabilities with business needs.
  • Support testing, rollout, and staff training on new systems and technology tools.
  • Utilize WMS data and reporting to drive process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement in workflow, layout, and systems integration.
  • Administrative & Reporting

  • Maintain records and logs related to warehouse operations, equipment inspections, and safety compliance.
  • Support management with KPI tracking, audit preparation, and operational reporting.
  • Monitor warehouse supply levels and coordinate reordering as needed.
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of warehouse experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ideally including participation in system rollout or improvement projects.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, database systems, and operational software).
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Forklift certification (or ability to become certified within 60 days).
  • OSHA certification or willingness to complete OSHA safety training.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Hourly : $28-$36 (based on experience)
  • Schedule : Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
