Part-Time Tax Preparer

Location : West Michigan | Part-Time | Seasonal (December–April) | On-Site | $25–$30 per hour

Are you an experienced tax professional looking for flexible, seasonal work in a supportive environment? Our West Michigan accounting firm is seeking a Part-Time Tax Preparer to join our close-knit team for the upcoming tax season.

This is an in-person position offering flexible scheduling and the chance to work directly with individuals and small businesses. Ideal for professionals who enjoy client interaction and take pride in delivering accurate, timely results.

Key Responsibilities :

Prepare and file individual and small business federal and state tax returns (Form 1040; experience with 1120, 1065, or 1041 a plus)

Communicate with clients to collect information and explain tax concepts clearly

Ensure accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality in all work

Assist with electronic filing and light administrative duties as needed

Work efficiently to meet deadlines during peak season

Qualifications :

Minimum 2 years of recent experience preparing individual tax returns

Solid understanding of federal and state tax codes

Proficiency with tax preparation software

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Able to work occasional evenings or Saturday mornings during peak periods

High school diploma or equivalent required ; degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

CPA, EA, or similar certification a plus but not required
