Pay Range : $16.00 – $28.64 per hour

Shift / Hours : Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM

Job Summary

As a Claims Representative - Spanish , you will play a vital role in supporting residents impacted by wildfires as part of a state-sponsored Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program . You will assist applicants in-person, guiding them through the claims process with empathy, professionalism , and cultural sensitivity. This position is based onsite in Pasadena, CA, during regular business hours.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Assistance : Respond to resident inquiries with clarity and compassion .

Application Support : Guide residents through claims applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documents.

Customer Journey Understanding : Listen actively to residents to address individual needs at every stage.

Documentation Handling : Assist in scanning, uploading, and verifying documents per program rules.

Issue Resolution : Escalate complex concerns to the appropriate internal teams.

Compliance & Confidentiality : Maintain data privacy and follow all legal and company regulations.

Communication : Clearly explain next steps and process updates to residents.

Required Experience

Bilingual fluency in Spanish (reading and writing)

Experience in customer service or related fields

High school diploma or equivalent

Nice-to-Have Experience

Prior experience in Insurance or Healthcare claims support

Required Skills

Proficiency navigating web-based applications

MS Office (novice level) : Word, Excel

Excellent active listening and communication skills

Strong empathy, patience , and emotional resilience

Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities

Preferred Skills

Data entry accuracy and speed

Experience with in-person or community outreach services

Additional Skills

Ability to maintain professional demeanor in high-stress situations

Familiarity with structured guidelines and escalation protocols
